FAQS:
Does Sam leap into Princess Diana?
No, he merely leaps into a 26 year old American tourist in Paris France in late August, 1997.
Why Diana? Give the poor woman a rest!
The story doesn't delve into her character, nor does it attempt to re-write anything. It taps into society's timeless quest to put right where it once went wrong. Diana will NOT be shown in a questionable light, instead she will be portrayed as a truly beautiful woman who died well before her time.
Does Sam save her?
You'll have to wait to see it.
Are you going to have Scott Bakula or Dean Stockwell reprise their roles?
Not likely. I'm sure their asking price is way beyond our realm of affordability.
Can we purchase DVD's of it?
No. This is a fanfilm, and fanfilms are meant to be FREE for all fans to enjoy it. Absolutely NO PROFIT WILL BE MADE FROM THIS PRODUCTION WHATSOEVER.
So if you can't make any money, why do it?
To present to potential cable outlets in hopes to revive the franchise... AND to stir interest in this fantastic show once again. As of now, the film is scheduled to be premiered at Quantum Leap's 20th anniversary festival in Los Angeles called 'Leap Back". The show's original cast and crew will be on hand as well, so the potential for an actor to be seen by some big names is highly likely.
Who will portray these characters, and when will you be casting?
RACSO will be casting in early 2008, working with actors throughout the Indianapolis region.
I'm a HUGE Quantum Leap fan. What can I do to help?
We could use donations to help offset production costs. We have to feed cast & crew, and pay carpenters to build sets... it costs an amazing amount of money. Click here if you wish to make a donation of any kind.
I'm an actor, and have heard fanfilms are goofy and made by people who have no clue how to shoot anything. Why should I even try out for this?
Don't think a fan based production doesn't get noticed. The actor who played Spock in 'Star Trek Vs. Batman' went to an audition some months after we released it, and the casting director (whom he had never met) already knew the actor and had watched the it. And don't forget the kid who made 'Ryan vs. Dorkman', a Star Wars based fanfilm... the kid got hired by LucasFilm after the execs saw it online. Believe me, the audiences have grown considerably in the past few years. I can guarantee you a fanfllm will get seen by twenty times the viewers than a normal independent film would.
"Quantum Leap: A Leap to Di for" is being made by professional filmmakers and fans of the show. While we're not in pre-production just yet, I can say that this will be shot with the best lighting, sound, and cameras available to us. I'd like to think that being in this business for 15 years has taught me a few things about how to shoot an relatively decent film, at least I hope so!
Check out what else we have done since 1993! (Oddly enough, we've been in business since Quantum Leap's demise!)
